Clear voice communication is crucial in aviation environments, where engine noise, cabin vibrations, and air turbulence can interfere with speech. The ECM-DM1458T200 is designed specifically for aviation headsets and other head-worn microphone applications, ensuring voices are captured clearly while background noise is minimized. Its unidirectional pickup and close-range performance make it an ideal choice for reliable in-flight communication.

Frequency Response and Performance

The ECM-DM1458T200 is tuned to enhance speech intelligibility. Its response starts at 100Hz, reducing low-frequency background noise like engine hum and cabin vibrations. Between 200Hz and 2kHz, the response is relatively flat, providing consistent capture of core voice frequencies for natural-sounding speech. From 2kHz to 5kHz, there is a noticeable boost to emphasize consonants, making instructions and dialogue clearer. Beyond 5kHz, the response gradually rolls off to minimize high-frequency disturbances such as wind or electronic noise.

Designed for close-range use, this microphone excels when placed near the wearer’s mouth, capturing speech clearly while suppressing side and rear noise. Its unidirectional pattern further improves focus on the wearer, and the compact size with 200Ω impedance allows easy integration into standard aviation audio systems. These characteristics make it highly suitable for head-worn microphone applications in demanding aviation environments.

In addition to the standard 200Ω version, our factory can provide microphones with different impedance options, including 150Ω, 250Ω, and 600Ω, as well as various sizes and configurations to match specific applications. We offer customized solutions tailored to client requirements, ensuring optimal performance for a wide range of head-worn and aviation headset microphone applications.
